SDTimes 100 for 2016

Each year, the SD Times 100 recognizes companies, noncommercial organizations, open source projects and other initiatives for their innovation and leadership. Judged by the editors of SD Times and BZ Media, the program recognizes the top innovators and leaders in multiple software development industry areas.

Now in its 14th year, SDTimes once again took a look those companies which have demonstrated innovation, and that have advanced the state of the art of software development. These companies have often captured the lion’s share of their market and, they’re what the people in our industry are talking about in the areas of ALM and Development Tools; APIs, Libraries and Frameworks; Big Data and Business Intelligence; Database and Database Management; DevOps; the Cloud; Test, Security and Performance; SCM; User Experience; and of course, Influencers.

We are excited to share that Electric Cloud was named a Best in Show for DevOps in 2016, and this was the 10th time we were recognized by SDTimes!

With cycles getting shorter and shorter, developers need tools that help them with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Application Release. With speed in mind, Electric Cloud was recognized as one of the companies that help keep software delivery projects and practitioners on track, no matter how fast they need to go.

What’s New with Electric Cloud since the last SDTimes 100?

Plenty!

  • We successfully launched our ElectricFlow DevOps Release Automation Platform, which has been recognized by many as a leading solution for orchestrating and automating all of your DevOps tools in the software delivery processes – from code check-in through release.
  • We also launched a community edition for developers and small teams, enabling you to easily deploy any application to any environment- for free.
  • Our team of experts has been busy across the globe, speaking about all the latest trends in DevOps and Continuous Delivery at such conferences as Velocity, Agile, Continuous Lifecycle London, Embedded World Germany, MERGE, Collision, ALM Forum, IEEE Tech Conference, and more!
  • We co-hosted our own conference – the second annual DevOps Enterprise Summit–alongside Gene Kim and IT Revolution. This is a vendor agnostic, IT transformation event that brought together a whole community of enterprise tech leaders who share a passion around enabling software innovation. DOES16 is coming up fast!
  • Our Continuous Discussions (#c9d9) podcast (now also on iTunes!) has been gaining popularity, giving more than 100 DevOps experts and thought-leaders a platform to share their tips and best practices around DevOps and all aspects of modern software delivery.
  • We’ve added plenty of new DevOps resources to our library from on-demand webinars and videos to eBooks and industry research reports – all focused on one thing: helping our customers and the community at large deliver better software faster!
  • We had record sales for our DevOps Release Automation solution, and have also closed multiple large contracts over the last two quarters with several leading Financial Services firms, including a Fortune 10 bank, two leading electronic stock trading companies and one of the industry’s largest mortgage originators. We also entered into a multi-year, multi-million dollar enterprise agreement with one of the largest networking companies in the world!

We see 2016 as the year of ‘hardening’ and scaling DevOps in the enterprise. Electric Cloud is uniquely focused on helping large organizations turn their software delivery from a laborious, slow and painful process into a competitive advantage, and as always – we’re excited – and humbled – to see the recognition and continued support from our users, the market, analysts, as well as industry publications.
